Concept art for Erinys, the Fury, wielding immortal Strings of Fate ripped from her own soul. Unlike Tattered Strings—using mortal strings as weapons—Shattered Strings are the gods equivalent of a nuclear bomb. They are indestructible, extend beyond the Heavens to unknowable distances, and can crack spacetime itself. However, very few gods can touch and manipulate Strings of Fate, even a mere mortal’s let alone those of a god. Strings represent the life of that being, thus only a select number of gods have been imbued with the ability to perceive or manipulate them. Zeus, The Fates, Athena, Apollo, Poseidon, and the Erinyes all have this capability to some degree, but the Erinyes (Furies) and Zeus are the only ones who can physically wield them in some way.

When desperate, the Furies have been willing to take more drastic measures still. Strings are from the deceased, and the Furies have reaped many such strings from mortals. If they are forced to expend all of those strings, they may tear the immortal strings from their own bodies to unleash a cataclysmic barrage... at the cost of their life. Here, Erinys is doing just that while shifting to her enraged form.
